Booking Terms and Conditions
Cancellation Policy
Deposits are non-refundable in the event of a cancellation, except for when Prescription Entertainment makes the cancellation.
January through September, cancellations made 14 days or less prior to a function, or scheduled bump in date (whichever is earlier), incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the booking fee. October through December, cancellations made 28 days or less prior to a function, or scheduled bump in date (whichever is earlier), incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the booking fee. Unless otherwise stated, bookings are not confirmed until the nominated deposit is recieved by Prescription Entertainment.
General Terms and Conditions
Hired equipment remains the sole property of Prescription Entertainment. The Hirer agrees to take sole possession and responsibility of equipment during an agreed hire period, and will not sell, transfer, loan, hire or lend equipment to third parties, unless agreed to in writing by Prescription Entertainment.
Hired equipment is the sole responsibility of the Hirer while the equipment is in their possession, or on site for the event. Any loss, theft or damage to equipment while in the hirers possession, or on site for the event, will be paid for in full by the hirer. Any repairs must not be undertaken without written consent from Prescription Entertainment prior to any works being undertaken.
Hired equipment and services must only be used for their intended purpose agreed to at the time of hire. Any damage, loss, theft, or other impact on equipment and/or services as a result of misuse while in the Hirers possession will be at the full expense of the hirer. Any further losses incurred by Prescription Entertainment due to misuse will be passed onto the Hirer.
Except for specialised equipment (such as cold spark machines and dry ice machines), it is assumed the hirer has adequate knowledge to properly and safely set up any hired equipment. It is the sole responsibility of the hirer to ask for instructions, direction or clarification if they are unsure of a hired items correct use. The Hirer fully indemnifies Prescription Entertainment and its partners for any injury, loss, damage or death as a result of the use of their equipment.
The Hirer agrees to pay the quoted hire fee by the agreed due date. In the event payment is not made by the due date, Prescription Entertainment reserves the right to cancel a booking and hold any deposits paid as a cancellation fee.
Equipment returned excessively dirty, beyond what is deemed reasonable wear and tear, will incur a cleaning fee. The cleaning fee will be advised upon final assessment of equipment, within 7 business days of return.
Where deemed appropriate, Prescription Entertainment reserves the right to collect a bond, either through cash, bank transfer or card details. In the event of any damage, loss or theft, Prescription Entertainment reserves the right to deduct any costs from the bond collected to cover the cost of loss, replacement or repair. If required, the bond amount will be stipulated prior to final invoicing.
For bookings where services exceed 4 hours (including DJ’s, event staff and event services, including staging and production, but excluding bump in and out), a crew meal shall be provided to Prescription Entertainment staff and contractors. In the event suitable refreshments are not provided, Prescription Entertainment crew and contractors reserve the right to suspend services at their discretion, for up to 30 minutes, while seeking meals.
Specific music requests shall be sent through at least 7 days prior to an event. Sending requests does not guarantee that your DJ will be able to source and play the music. Requests sent through less than 7 days prior to an event will only be referenced on the night. Please note that DJ’s are not able to play music off mobile devices, or source music during your event.
Invoices that are unpaid for more than 30 days after the due date will accrue interest at the current Australian Cash Rate as set by the Reserve Bank of Australia, plus a $55 collection fee. Interest will be back charged from the first date the invoice went overdue, and is calculated daily, and added to invoices weekly. Invoices that are more than 90 days overdue will be referred to debt collectors, with the hirer liable for all fees, charges and costs associated with the recovery of any unpaid balances.
LED Dance Floor
Our LED Dance Floor is resistant to spills, but is not water proof. Excessive spills, or dropped food and dirt will result in a $165 cleaning fee. Hirers should not attempt to clean the floor post event as chemicals and excessive water will cause further damages.
Furniture must not be taken onto the dance floor, unless rubber or felt is placed in between the furniture contact points and the dance floor. No furniture is to be dragged or wheeled across the dance floor.
Metal soled footwear must not be worn on the dance floor.
Dry ice effects are not to be used on the dance floor.
The floor is glass topped, and as such can become slippery when wet. It is the sole responsibility of the Hirer to ensure spills are dried during the hire period.
Damaged or broken edge pieces incur a replacement fee of $165.00 per piece.
Damaged or broken panels incur a repair or replacement fee of $330.00 per panel.
Damaged or broken control boxes and/or power supplies incur a replacement fee of $440.00 per unit.
Exclusion of Liability
Unless deemed otherwise by Australian Consumer Law, The Hirer shall indemnify Prescription Entertainment, its suppliers, contractors or any person or business otherwise associated with the hire from any liability, damages, losses or injury that arise from hiring equipment or services.
Assumed Agreement
By agreeing to a quote and paying a deposit or hire fee, it is assumed that the Hirer agrees to the above terms and conditions in full. Should the Hirer breach any of these conditions, Prescription Entertainment reserves the right to suspend or cancel the agreement, without notice, and retrieve hired equipment at the expense of the Hirer. Prescription Entertainment reserves the right to amend, change or update these terms and conditions at any time.
